Overview
Sweep Alarm helps you set reminders for San Francisco street sweeping. We collect only what is needed to show nearby schedule information, set alarms, improve the app, and review parking-sign corrections submitted by users.
This policy applies to the Sweep Alarm iOS app and the public website at sweepalarm.com.
Information We Collect
- Location information: When you allow location access, the app uses your current or selected map location to find the nearest street side and schedule. Active parking coordinates are stored on your device so local reminders can be managed.
- Parking alarm settings: Reminder offsets, notification preferences, premium access state, and active alarm state are stored on your device.
- Parking-sign corrections: If you edit and save a schedule, Sweep Alarm may submit the corrected schedule for review. A submission can include the street ID, street name, street coordinates, street side, schedule days and times, holiday setting, week-of-month values, timestamps, and an anonymous Firebase user identifier.
- Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and reliability. Events can include actions such as starting or stopping parking, opening settings, changing reminder settings, viewing the paywall, and permission results. These events are not intended to include your precise parking location.
- Purchase information: Premium purchases and restores are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Sweep Alarm reads entitlement status from Apple so it can unlock premium features.
- Contact information: If you email us for support, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
- Website access: The static website may generate standard hosting logs, such as IP address, browser information, requested pages, and timestamps, through the hosting provider.
How We Use Information
- To determine street sweeping schedules near the place you park.
- To schedule, update, and remove local notifications on your device.
- To remember your local alarm and notification preferences.
- To review user-submitted parking-sign corrections and improve schedule accuracy.
- To understand feature usage, diagnose issues, and improve the app.
- To respond to support requests.
How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers only as needed to operate the app and website, including Firebase for authentication, analytics, and Firestore data storage; Apple for App Store downloads, purchases, and notifications; and the website hosting provider for serving sweepalarm.com.
Parking-sign correction submissions may be reviewed internally before being used to improve schedule data.
Location and Notifications
Location access is controlled by iOS. You can change location permissions at any time in the Settings app. Notifications are local reminders scheduled on your device, and you can disable notification permission in iOS settings.
Retention
Information stored locally remains on your device until you remove the alarm, change settings, delete the app, or iOS removes the data. Parking-sign correction submissions may be retained as long as needed to review schedule accuracy, prevent duplicate work, and maintain improved schedule data. Support emails are retained as needed to respond and keep support records.
Your Choices
- You can deny or revoke location and notification permissions in iOS settings.
- You can remove active parking alarms in the app.
- You can choose not to submit parking-sign corrections by not saving edited signs.
- You can contact us to request deletion of support messages or parking-sign correction submissions associated with information you provide.
Children
Sweep Alarm is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
